Work with client companies

Understand Firm workspaces, managed-client capacity, and your team’s access to companies.

A Firm workspace is designed for client work. Managed-client capacity counts client companies; it is separate from the internal accountant members included in Firm plans.

Select the Firm workspace

Use the workspace switcher to select your firm. Check that the company you are working on is the intended client before opening its books or calendar.

Owners and administrators can manage billing and client capacity. Other team members may have access to company work without being able to change the firm’s subscription.

Add a managed client

Use the managed-client controls in the workspace’s billing settings to select a company and add it to the firm. The interface shows whether the client is active or pending.

If adding clients requires more capacity, review the capacity change and its price before confirming. A pending client should not be treated as active until the workspace confirms the change.

Check access in context

A company shared directly with you can have different access from a company managed by your firm. The company’s owner or managing firm controls its paid access. Switching workspaces does not grant additional permissions by itself.

For current included capacity and additional-client pricing, compare Firm plans. If a client is missing or an action is unavailable, check your workspace, company selection, and role before contacting support.
